anthropogene Substratumwandlung, 2024

Mixed Media Assemblages (Series)

Acrylic artificial teeth, melted plastic (toys, balloons, shopping bag, clothes hanger), various textiles, PVC film, faux fur, latex, faux fur, dried adhesive, nail polish, nylon thread, air mattresses, digital images printed on banner material.

The series „Anthropogene Substratumwandlung (Anthropogenic Substrate Transformation)“ explores the transformation of everyday objects and envisions a world where artificial materials develop a new form of vitality. In these hybrid structures, the boundaries between human, object, and environment dissolve.

The assemblages draw on the remarkable adaptability of animals to altered habitats – such as birds integrating plastic into their nests or crabs using bottle caps as protection. These works breathe new life into human waste and question the symbiotic relationship between nature and culture.

„Anthropogene Substratumwandlung (Anthropogenic Substrate Transformation)“ moves between environmental critique and speculative fiction, tracing an imagined evolution in which organic and synthetic forms merge into a new unity.
